I am 1st year game design student and I'm particularly interested in environment design. I have created this blog so I can look back over the years to track my progression and also to remind myself of certain techniques etc. As the first year is almost over, I will be posting a couple of pics of my work so far, but as time goes by I will start making more detailed notes on the processes and workflows. I will also be critiquing my own work and making suggestions for improvements.

Custom Concrete Texture
Just a something small on the side. This is a concrete texture I made in Substance Designer with procedural puddles of water. I added a switch and exposed some variables before giving them appropriate names. The end user would then be able to access these parameters in their hose application such as Maya, Unreal, Unity or Substance Painter etc. I have provided the options to adjust how much water is spread across the concrete, how deep the puddles are and of course the option to switch the water on or off all together.
